Super Junior's 6th Anniversary
Ok this post is specially dedicated to my Super Junior boys whom I've adored for 6 years. Yes I've been a fan for 6 years. This is basically to prove that I am NOT one of those girls who suddenly got sucked into the K-pop madness recently.
Ok I think I'm just gonna use this post to embarrassingly pour out all my old Suju secrets haha. When did they first catch my attention? With the song "Knock Out" which I only realised quite a while later that it was their very first song so yes I've been a fan since day 1 I guess? or song 1. or rather video 1. I was a boyband fanatic at that point in time and I knew every single boyband and all their songs including those that were not that popular especially the UK boybands so the song "Knock Out" was originally Triple Eight's.
I was watching MTV at that point in time and during the JK hit this song appeared and it caught my attention because I recognised the song. Being a visual person and a dancer, their synchonized dance moves really brought out the essence of the song and I thought they did a good job; improved upon and churned out a great cover. And yes they looked like punks at that point in time. I thought they were really cute but never knew them beyond "Super Junior, the overcrowded boyband that dances very well"
A while later I saw more TV programmes which featured them and decided I had a favourite member and it was Kangin. I thought he was cute haha. I guess the video "Dancing Out" made me like him even more cause I thought he looked simply adorable there in the light blue.
Then came the music video "U" and I think that started my ultimate fangirling because of the ehem hip thrusting hahahahaha.
This was when I started to like more of the members but I still did not know them by name, not even Kangin. I basically liked all the cute ones; Donghae Kibum Ryeowook Sungmin and I also thought Yesung looked like JJ and Siwon looked like Kangta so that was what I called the two of em hahaha.
They went for the MTV Asia Awards in Malaysia as well and when I saw the backstage footage I thought Sungmin was irresistibly cute and so he became one of my favourites then; I just basically really liked him
Then there was Super Junior M with the same song and holyshit they were freaking hot and I decided I didnt need Super Junior, I only went crazy over Super Junior M. I bought their albums and their posters and from then on dedicated myself to one man - Lee Donghae. I was also pretty huge on Hangeng and Siwon since the MTV Asia Awards; the two princes cause I thought they were very good-looking. I really liked Hangeng as well because he danced well and looked amazing in the SujuM photoshoots.
I think I have like 100s of Lee Donghae pictures saved on my desktop. And I still remember having this picture as my MSN picture for a very long time haha
And then I guess we all know about the song that made them famous - Sorry Sorry. I remember being super crazy over the video as well (more of them and their dancing than the song) but I never missed JK hits just to see them and I remember even my maid recognising the song haha. JK hit was always around 5-530pm? and I always had to leave around 515pm for training so I was always hoping to catch it within the first 15minutes and there are several times I leave and they play the video and maid would tell mummy something along the lines of "awww she just left, her video just came on" haha yes I pulled my whole family including the maid into my Super Junior madness =S
So anyway they finally made a stop in Singapore during SS3 when I finally got to see them live for the first time!! Thank you soooooo much to my bro MK for queuing for the tickets and being oh-so-lucky in securing 2 moshpit tickets <3 However due to height disadvantage I did not enjoy myself much during the show; cause I wanted to see the full stage and choreography and I hated not being able to see like more than half the stage; all the other things that were happening everywhere apart from right in front of my face. But that aside I realised that moshpit is where you really get to see them upclose; as promised it brings you closer than any other seats. Got Ryeowook's and Yesung's unwanted attention. And yes this was also the night me and Eunhyuk <3 (Fiqah should remember the morning after =p "OMG its definitely from him" hehe roses)
Due to me being upset about the bad experience, I decided I would regret not going for SS3 Malaysia in a good seated position. So 19 March 2011 I was sitting in the VIP area with Siwon's family =] Though MK reckon they all look like Yesung haha (his female cousins) That was when I had my moment with Donghae <3 (and also Shindong, Sungmin) And yes all my special performances which werent performed in Singapore: Perfection and Hyuk's solo Down hehe MK kept shouting about how my wish came true and how Hyuk and I are meant to be <3 Ok yes everyone stared once again haha anyway got my SS4 tickets through my same connections and yaye to row 14 seats hope my fanclub people had a great time <3
Anyway yes wanted to end this off with personal feelings towards them. "I dont wanna be with them, I wanna be one of them" to which my friend replied with "Oh you're a different type of fan" Yes my dream is to be a Super Junior haha nah I just really love/admire them on stage because they're living the dream I never dared to pursue myself; performing on stage. Anyway at the end of the day my heart still belongs to Westlife; just that my physical self belongs to Hyuk oops I mean I still need Super Junior for visuals haha. Dance. And also I truly admire them for their hardwork because I dont think korean artists get it easy. And also basically because they're my generation and they really are my kind of people hahaha.
So anyway, happy 6th anniversary baby boys! Phoebe Feehily, yours always, signing off now ciao!
