KOREA 2014: DAY 13 ~ SEOUL: Tous Les Jours, YG, The Cafe BBQ (Sungyeol), Departure from Incheon Airport

29 OCT 2014

And today marks the day we say goodbye to Korea. Having already packed our bags (appropriately and neatly so to best facilitate our VAT claims), and done with shopping, today was one which we were going to take easy.

We still got up pretty early anyway, paying a visit to the Tous Les Jours cafe just across our hotel, we decided it was a must go since it was practically located at every other street in Seoul.

I thought the variety was decent and a good cup of coffee was had at every cafe so far. With our bodies warmed and stomachs filled, we were good to enjoy our last few hours in Seoul.

We took a short walk over to YG Entertainment for symbolism sake before attempting to find our way to the Han River.

I knew where Eunhae liked to hang out but we couldn't be bothered. We figured; it's just this long river that runs through Korea so any spot was fine we just wanted to snap a photo at the famous river.

And guess what? Despite the above fact and knowledge; we FAILED to actually get to the freaking Han River. Disappointed, lost, confused and lazy, we decided food was more important.

Ta-da! Sungyeol's chicken restaurant! You know what's the funniest part? When we went back to find the restaurant, we discovered that it was right beside the station all along! Like literally the one we got out of every single day while we were staying there. What if we had strolled past it when he was inside?! Bummer .

The place itself is literally a Sungyeol shrine with posters, gifts from fans etc all over walls and counter.

And when the food and drinks finally arrived; me and KH were freaking happy!! The chicken was tasty and very worth the money we spent on it. We will forever remember the yummy Sungyeol's chicken

Following the sumptuous lunch, the painful lugging of luggage began with the horrible flights of stairs at the train stations. Yes there was a point in time I had to carry a 15kg luggage on each hand and walk down the flight of stairs haha.

Arriving at the airport, we rushed to get our VAT papers signed; and it was annoying that they didn't actually check anything so all our "intelligent packing" was down to waste. Following the stamping, we proceeded to open up our luggage and repack everything so that our carry-on luggage would be lighter.

When we finally checked-in and cleared immigration to collect the cash back from the VAT refund (still a mad rush) - we had time for one last drink before we said goodbye to Korea.

I must say that all in all I am extremely satisfied with this trip, I had great company and I achieved EVERYTHING that was very Korea in my opinion; the scenic part in Jeju, the physical adventure of climbing a mountain (halfway), good Korean food across all criteria, historical knowledge enhancement about their past from Busan to DMZ, loads of shopping, exclusive fangirling experiences, Hello Kitty indulgence and even a fun theme park visit.

This concludes my very happening trip to Korea and I hope you all enjoyed reading my posts =)

Phoebe Feehily signing off now, ciao!
