Movie Mania
I have watched a grand total of 4 movies this week which I reckon is quite a bit haha so I shall give a short review on each in case any of you intend to watch them =]
First up is Thor. Apologies but I just couldnt resist putting up this hot picture instead of the standard movie poster haha
Storyline is pretty good. I mean its the usual action hero jealous brother story which is made obvious from the very start. Loki's hidden secret is a cute twist within the story. But definitely a must-watch for all Avengers/Stan Lee comic fans because of the links between all the stories. It was a must watch for us (me and MK) because we are already hyped for the upcoming Avengers movie. If you want to follow you gotta use a bit of your brain when watching the movies to find the links. For example The Hulk leads you to Iron Man and Iron Man leads you to Thor. (ending of Hulk shows something from Starks enterprise and Iron Man shows the flying hammer) Thor introduces an energy source which I think we can safely assume that it is meant for Captain America. And if you intend to catch this movie in the cinema, do note this rule "Never walk out of a Stan-Lee adapted movie when the credits start rolling" There is always something at the end. (Which I already revealed is what in Thor) Cant wait for Captain America, I love Chris Evans!! =]
Scream 4
Scream 4 was definitely a 100% CANNOT MISS movie for me. It started showing a couple of weeks back and I was lucky enough to manage to catch one of the last few screenings of this movie. Ok I think two words is enough to sum up how much this movie series means to me "My Childhood" Me and MK had a conversation in the cinema where he asked me "Is Scream your ultimate favourite movie?" "Of course, I grew up watching the Scream series" "Yes I know, I grew up watching you watch the movies" Haha. Well I guess now you know the reason behind my rather psychotic current mindset. Oh well. I really loved the movie serial and this 4th installment kind of links the movies together in terms of all the "rules" in the movies so its a pretty good watch. Its still Wes Craven so that is good good. The twist at the end is pretty good as well. The killer is rather unexpected. And we all love rule number 1 : Never fuck with the original. Haha loves Neve Campbell, such a strong character. I especially loved this movie because they got all the old cast back which I think is always a difficult task especially after such a long time. But hey I think the Scream series has been extremely successful considering the phenomenon the mask has caused even up to current date. I bet everyone knows the Scream mask but maybe only 10% of these people truly knows the movie. Oh well theres always the Scream expert ME =]
Fast And Furious 5
This movie was chosen by MK. I have watched the entire series but I am still very confused by the timeline of the movies. I think its goes in this order: 1,2,4,5,3 - tokyo drift comes after everything. As usual not much storyline apart from Oceans 11 style mission which requires fast cars. But ok I confess I did drool over the cars. The blue porsche was WHOA DAMN HOT. Haha and oh I really loved the Rock in this movie. He really suited the character. The movie was also full of really hot pretty gals so definitely a real eyecandy for the guys. Basically hot cars + hot girls + hot guys.
The Lost Bladesman
Once again I shall mention that I absolutely love these movies; regarding the Chinese history particularly these people in these eras. I know, shocking truth about me despite my lack of love for the language but yah I love these stories and also all the other stories about other legendary swordsmen. This is purely a Guan Yu story. Not much about his fighting and wars but more on the man that he was. It covers his death as well. Huge emphasis on Cao Cao and I think this movie showed him in a very different light; I would say in a positive light actually. I was sad when Andy On died hahaha. And I absolutely loved that guy with Cao Cao which I just conveniently forgot his name haha. Might be a bit less exciting compared to most movies made about these people but I think a good insight on Guan Yu because I personally learnt quite a lot of things about him and truths which I did not expect.
End of this post with a picture of Yesung wearing the Scream mask during SS3 Malaysia. He ran over to Donghae and "stabbed him" right in front of my face. It was pretty scary. But thank god I have no fear for the Scream mask. Haha if it was the mask of ******* - something I feared haha, of course I am not revealing my fears on this public platform, I probably would have screamed really badly haha or worst still faint haha. Ok highly unlikely I would faint but I would probably cry haha
Ok the boys are currently having their very last SS3 in Vietnam. Lucky fans of Vietnam Im sure the boys are very happy and excited. Congrats on a successful SS3 tour =]
Aights end of movie reviews Phoebe Feehily signing off now ciao!
