Krabi Trip Dec 2011 with Boyfriend

And so my sweet sweet boyfriend Rory decided to bring me on a short holiday to Krabi since I complained that I dont get to go overseas much haha.

Day 1

Mummy and MK fetched my bf from his house and headed to the airport for lunch before we left for our flight. Omg first time at the budget terminal. I saw on the website that it was only 1 level but I didnt know it meant you could see the other end of the terminal whilst standing at one end haha.

We had lunch at Macs before heading to the check-in counter. It was pretty messy cause there was only one line for all the various flights. Oh well budget. After we were done I was actually going to crawl under the barrier to get out but boyfriend made me walk out the long way. There were people stopping in the middle of the way so I couldnt take it and started pushing them with my trolley before realising that there was a policeman checking our passports there. Oops.

Then I went to pay my credit card bills and said my final byebye to MK and Mummy before me and boyfriend headed into the gates.

The departure hall was very tiny; was guessing that it was also the same place you arrive at.

It was like a mini foodcourt with DimSums and coffee. So me and boyfriend basically just slacked at one table with our coffee =] (After he opened up my bag and insisted that I brought too much rubbish =p)

After close to an hour of waiting we headed towards the gates where we had to queue for a pretty long time of which Rory kept complaining about because he insists we should be like those VIP people who stroll in at the last moment haha.

When the plane finally arrived, we could see people alighting; and once the plane was cleared it would be our turn to board. I was so surprised I kept asking boyfriend stuff like "Dont they need to refuel?" "Dont they need to do maintenance check?" "Dont they need to clean the plane?" Apparently not. Haha

We also had to take the ladder up the plane! Exciting experience for me once again haha.

When we reached our seats, boyfriend was a happy boy because we got the seats at the emergency exit, which meant "we had a lot of leg space, even more leg space than the seats in the first class" What amused me more was the air stewardess who came over to give us instructions in case their was something wrong and the emergency exit needed to be activated. Why? Because her English was soooo bad we couldnt understand a single word she said! hahaha how to save the people? haha

We finally reached Krabi Airport after about 2hours. It felt really really short, me and bf were basically chit-chatting on the plane and napping a bit and we reached shortly after, almost felt as if it was a train trip from the West to East of Singapore haha.

Upon arrival at the airport, there were a million and one drivers holding the namecards and screaming out if we were the person haha. Super funny. I told boyfriend it felt like we were celebrities hahaha. Oops. My sharp eye found Rory's name and dragged him to the driver haha where he very quickly ushered us to a personal jeep to get to the resort

The ride was about 30minutes or so. The driver drove really really fast though and he even had to brake hard suddenly. Eeks. But yeah the general feeling I got driving down was almost like Batam really. Except everything here (signboards etc) were all in Thai which actually made reading impossible haha.

Finally we reached the resort =]

We were served several drinks at the lobby, I rejected the second cup cause I was just too bloated haha. Boyfriend said the second one was pretty bad and I tried and yes felt so acidic haha burned my throat. Lucky I didnt have it

After boyfriend settled all the administrative stuff, we were escorted to our room.

OUR LOVELY ROOM! Of which the toilet took up half the space. Nice huge toilet haha

Hello boyfriend! =]

It was already close to 5 when we reached the resort so we decided to use up our one day resort dinner voucher for tonight and decided to dine in the resort restaurant. Boyfriend booked us in at 630pm so in between we basically called to confirm our whitewater rafting booking before relaxing in the bathtub <3

Dinner was pretty good, though we were the only people at the restaurant haha. Basically when we checked-in we were given 3 different set menus to choose from, consisting of about 5dishes with dessert. I basically chose a set based on purely the dessert, sounded nice hahaha so yup here are pictures! =]

Yummy dessert! Was banana in coconut milk =] I actually ALMOST forgot about dessert cause boyfriend went to the toilet and the waiter came over to pour more water and I was like "its ok, we're leaving" and he was like "you have dessert". OMG cant believe me, of all people, forgot about dessert, the reason why I even chose the menu hahaha.

After that we waited for the shuttle bus which would take us to the nearby town. So we took pictures! Christmas decorations =]

It was quite funny cause after about 10mins we realised we didnt feel like waiting so we paid 100baht to kind of get chauffeured there straightaway.

We wandered around the nearby town and bought this yummy pancake/crepe along the way and walked around somemore before decided to chill at a bar. The girls there were damn cute they had a lot of games there and they would teach you how to play it and such (imagine MINDS cafe but with hot girls hahahaha) and there was a guy who was alone so one of the girls sat down to play Jenga with him haha. Damn cute. Me and Rory got this game: connect. I dont think anyone won the whole night =S hahahaha

We walked around a bit more to look at shops and when we decided we were tired enough we took a Tuk-Tuk back! Hehe adventure

Got back and relaxed in the bathtub (and I checked and replied emails and such for FYP) before going to bed

Day 2

Most of the day was already "planned" when we signed up for the Rafting+Elephant trekking package online prior to leaving for Krabi. The van came to pick us up early in the morning (we were the first) and then picked up many other people along the way before bringing us up the mountain. Boyfriend thought we were like super near destination when it turned out we were about 2-hour drive away =S So much for not bringing extra clothes because even if we're wet we can just go back and change =S Sigh dear boyfriend ah haha

Anyway moving on to our day's adventure. The first stop was actually a temple? of sorts with tons of monkeys there. It was along the way and hence the van stopped for about 20mins. We walked around for barely 10mins before returning to the van because I was already suffering from multiple mosquito bites. Damn. haha

We finally reached the rafting area and there were a group of Singaporean people (friend/kids/teens) and the safety demonstration done on them was shit hilarious. We could tell they were Singaporeans from the super loud Singlish proudly showed off to the whole van the entire journey there =S Sigh. We were grouped into groups of 4 and there wasnt a multiple of 4 so me and bf was left alone. The guy asked us if we rafted before and I said I did so he left the 2 of us alone with an instructor on the raft. Right. Look at me. Even if I said I rafted before you really just took my word for it and assumed? haha. Ok fine I still insist I did row quite a bit even though boyfriend claims that I did nothing (he always thinks hes the best at everything oh well let's not go there) At the halfway journey mark people who did not sign up for the full distance got off and rafts were re-arranged and we were paired up with another cute couple. They even had a waterproof camera so they were snapping away haha.

We were greeted with lunch after we were done =] Yummy lunch by the way. Food meant for 4 people was once again enjoyed by just the 2 of us hahaha.

After the piggies were done eating, we were headed for the elephant trekking

And this was the couple who was with us during rafting too =]

The elephant ride was quite thrilling in a way cause it always feels like you're gonna slip down everytime the elephant walks down a steep slope. Boyfriend kept whining and moaning about animal abuse the entire freaking ride =S

After the ride Rory bought some bananas because he wanted to feed the elephant.

We got sent back to our hotel after the elephant trekking and yes I was still a bit damp and freezing in the van =p Got home to relax in a hot bath before heading out for dinner.

Rory insisted on eating in this seafood restaurant that he once ate at with his friends when they came to Krabi the last time so we asked the reception counter on the name of the restaurant. She recommended the famous one and we got a Tuk-Tuk driver to take us there. However when we reached there, boyfriend said that it wasnt the same place and looking at him look unhappy, I suggested finding another Tuk-Tuk and asking the driver. We went out and found our same driver still there with his friends so we asked them and it turned out one of them did know what boyfriend was looking for and sent us to the correct place! Yaye =]

It was quite isolated; very far off from the main road and the restaurant was pretty empty when we got there, also because it was still early. Ok so here's pictures of the cheap yummy seafood at the nice restaurant =]

The first time I ate raw crab =S When I got home and told daddy about it, he kept screaming about how dangerous it was! *gasp*

Anyway after dinner we decided to take a Tuk-Tuk back as usual and dropped at the nearby town to walk around a bit more. I couldnt resist not stopping at the Haagen Dazs I had my eyes on yesterday hehe and so I ordered this! hehe I know damn greedy =p Fat fat

Whilst walking back to the hotel we passed the massage parlour and decided to go in for a massage hehe (well me anyway I think boyfriend did a body scrub) I did a traditional Thai massage for like only less than 10SGD. And it was WHOA. Hardcore. hahaha so worth-it ;-)

So after the great relaxation we got back to the hotel and tucked ourselves into bed =]

Day 3

Today was yet another action-packed day with fishing making a bulk of it =] The van came to fetch us in the morning and we thought we were expecting more people but it seems there will only be the 2 of us on one boat! It was great!! It was like having a private boat without paying the exorbitant price.

The first catch of the day obviously went to the fisherman haha (duh experience counts)

He even explained to us the different types of fishes we can expect and the seasons together with sad depressing stories about how the illegal boats come in and sweep up all the fishes with the big nets and hence depriving these fishermen of their living.

And yes I do caught a fishy despite slacking like crazy HAHA (biggest catch of the day by the way) hahaha I actually just threw my line in and didnt even care and the guy steering the boat saw my line and said there was a fish so I reeled it in HAHA

We travelled to one of the islands where we wanted on the "sandbar?" of sort and taking this lovely picture:

And also had our fried rice lunch before heading back to the main island.

We listened to more stories from the fisherman whilst catching more fishies on the journey back. I find our fisherman rather knowledgeable like he even reads and stuff. Cools.

When we got back to our hotel, we passed the box full of our fishes to the restaurant and asked them to prepare it for us; Sashimi for lunch. So we went to take a shower before coming back to the restaurant where we were served our fishes together with ordered prawn noodles and soup.

Yummy lunch! =] Especially since it was like "hard/self-earned" hahaha =p ok fine it wasn't "hard-earned" hehe but hehe I fished myself =]

The next thing on our list was a trip to Krabi town! Boyfriend apparently went there before but when I got there it wasnt as much as I was expecting =S Anyway we took the public bus there hehe =] And there was a frog in boyfriend's shoe...since before lunch and he finally decided to take off his shoe and check when we were on the bus =S He named it Sam the Frog

First stop was a shopping centre where we both bought some clothes. Then we wandered around the big market in the central area where I bought FOOD! =]

This banana and chicken sausage wrapped in crepe was SOOOOO damn good and CHEAP! Almost 3 for a dollar. Amazing right? I was soooo in love with it <3

Thank god I ate food because the hour long hunt for the hawker centre was about to begin....Boyfriend insisted that we eat dinner at that hawker centre him and his friends did when he was there because...just because. It was extremely painful and horrible especially for me but we talked through it and he apologised already so I shall not drag it further. But I was already dead tired by the time we reached the said hawker centre I didnt even eat haha.

We were quite tired and moody already so we decided to just head back via public bus once again but this time the fare was higher =S The wind kept blowing in my eye so I just kind of slept anyway haha. We reached our hotel pretty fast though and we packed most of our stuff before heading to bed.

Day 4

Our flight was in the afternoon so we had till about 1pm before leaving the hotel via our airport transfer. So we had the morning to "kill" and I decided I wanted to do a manicure whilst boyfriend got himself a massage. So we walked down the street hunting for a place where we could essentially do both simultaneously ;-) And we found it by like the third shop hehe. My nails were done by 2 people, a lady and a tranny hahaha the tranny was apparently the design person so I had to wait for it to arrive to draw hearts and flowers on my finger nails haha. The other lady did my toes haha. Bf joked and said I was like royalty being served by 2  people haha. K here's the completed work:

Anyway we were in a rush and the tranny kept whining for us not to rush it HAHA. Right after we were done we went back to the hotel to shower and back our remaining stuff before heading to the lobby for our ride. The hotel pissed us off though cause we waited for so goddamn long and a couple came as well so bf and the guy went to complain because its supposed to be a private charter. We weren't supposed to wait and neither are they supposed to leave so early in the same car. So off we went FINALLY.

Since it was so rushed me and boyfriend had cup noodles right outside the boarding gate and brought cookies onboard.

Bye Bye Krabi! It was a great trip and I really enjoyed my first trip with boyfriend <3 Thank you for being oh-so-sweet and doing this for me =]

Phoebe Feehily signing off now ciao!
