KOREA 2014: DAY 10 ~ SEOUL: Apgujeong, Grill5 (Donghae), CUBE, JYP, Mouse Rabbit (Yesung)

26 OCT 2014

After an exhausting, exciting and fulfilling Super Junior night out, we decided to take a short nap before waking up for a late lunch. We were meant to leave our apartment at about 1pm but unfortunately our stupid washing machine in pure Korean language was giving us a headache; basically we couldn't open the door and hence our lunch date got delayed.

It was almost 3pm when we finally got our lazy asses out and arrived at Apgujeong Station (again) and this time we had more time and were in a much better mood for pictures like these:

Lunch stop: Donghae's Grill 5. Of course, I told the owner I was paying a visit ;-)

Directions to get there: After getting off at Apgujeong Rodeo Station, get out at Exit 4 and walk straight down until you reach Seolleung-ro 152 gil where you take a left and walk up the hill. It is about maybe 4-5 "blocks" down and you will see this: (it's really not that obvious tbh I saw the 'SJ' logo there first)

Address: 15 Seolleung-ro 152-gil (88-10 Cheongdam-dong)

Upon entering, ordering was fine because the menu was in English but I wouldn't bother trying to order anything special apart from pointing out what you want because the staff couldn't speak at all.

There is a paper bag and nachos available in the middle counter but there was no sauce so it was a bit weird to me..I snacked on some anyway while waiting for my food to be delivered.

The food didn't take too long and ta-da! Chicken tacos and sweet potato fries. KH wasn't too fond of the latter but once she dug in, it was not a regretted choice ;-)

As you can see, there is a massive amount of onions and vegetables and sorts on the tacos so me being me, brushed it all aside before digging in. Good thing is, it is only on the top so it's easily removable. Even for vegetable-eaters like KH, it proved to be a tad too much. Hae-ah, you like these?

With regards to the Haru & One Day goods, they are on display in a glass box next to the nachos BUT they have no price tag attached to them and hence you have to go to the counter and enquire.

For me, I got this:

So I pondered over how big a hole I wanted to burn in my wallet while munching on my sweet potato fries. Being practical and cheap with a surprising amount of self-control, I made away with just this:

I've been eyeing this necklace since it was advertised (by Donghae) so it was a definite purchase. I was quite surprised it was available because I always thought these products were produced in a single batch and is no longer available once the stock clears. Oh well happy me....before Hae released yet another tempting necklace within the month....

And just as we were finishing up our food and getting ourselves physically prepared to continue our tour around the area, Donghwa walked in...and erm...did not forget to give me a look...which caused the whole restaurant to turn and stare at me. Hello, that's family of Donghae, not me. (or maybe I am =P) It was hilarious really, my friend turned to glare at me going "you told him you were coming?!" and in an attempt to avoid her eye contact I was faced with many others...haha...I swear I didn't do anything! =(

I tweeted that he was there and got a couple of replies for photos but I didn't feel comfortable doing it because I think privacy of family should be respected. And no neither did I approach him because I don't think family members are obligated to go through such things. That is my personal opinion so I really have no idea how people dare to ask them haha. Yah Phoebe's a chicken =P

So anyway I left soon after (he was still there) and we began our journey on...the K-road! The "starting point" is right in front of The Galleria:

Looking down on the ground you will spot colored "birds" and all you have to do is follow them BUT it was a huge fail because they only led to the crossing and ended there; so we had to navigate to the several agencies on our own.

In the direction faced in the picture above, you simply walk straight down and turn left to a bunch of Entertainment agencies (apologies for the lack of direction, I basically followed the map of a brochure I picked up at the tourist center)

But anyway, I accidentally coincidentally ended up at CUBE Studio where there was a group of fangirls waiting in the cafe. A white van arrived and people were screaming that it was BEAST but it seems they had already been dropped off prior to the driver arriving at the studio so nope did not see anyone =(

Just across the road was the JYP Entertainment building where a popular cafe filled with fangirls lie across

After taking a few pictures, we wanted to visit a temple but it was too dark and we were getting tired so we simply passed COEX / Hyundai Dept and did a short grocery shopping with the plan of cooking ramyeon later in the night

So our next and final destination, which ended up being one of our favourite places, was Mouse Rabbit!

A bit of a long walk from Konkuk University Station (Kondae) but not tough to locate. Coming out from Exit 2, take the flight of stairs down, turn left to cross the road and walk all the way straight. A Samsung store marks the left turn you should take. I visited the place on a Sunday night so it was pretty packed with students both on the streets and within the cafe itself; took me about 10-15minutes to find the place.

Address: 능동로 11 길(Neungdong-ro 11 gil)

It is slightly up the slope and a rather huge building spanning over three stories...and when I entered, I realized it was packed with students; Yeye is making good money.

I snapped this photo outside with the caption of not knowing if I was actually hoping to bump into Yeye here....friends who know of our history together should know why ;-)

Me and KH decided to sit in the basement where it was warm and homey. The deco was really pretty despite "bad lighting" for studying (we still saw many students downstairs). You have to remove your shoes before going in and all tables required you to sit on the floor. But they also provided pretty pink blankets for girls I guess; if you were wearing a skirt.

I made myself very comfortable =) With my new Haru & One Day necklace as well =)

KH was a sweetheart who went to order; we had a hot drink each and shared a slice of cheesecake. To be frank, the cake was average but the drinks were <3 p="">
1) Good presentation
2) Tasty
3) Yesung should sell the mugs as part of his merchandise

Yesung really chose a good location with loads of business not just from fangirls but also the university students.

So after a fulfilling "teabreak/dinner/supper" we headed  home and prepared our ramyeon! Say hello to bottomless girls hahaha

Ta-da! Amateur cooking with wrongly bought eggs haha (we thought it was uncooked but turned out they were already cooked)

And that concluded our short or long day out .... hot ramyeon and a glass of wine kindly left behind by our host =)
